Solar Basics

Yes; we only install solar systems on properties owned by the client. If you’re in the process of buying or have a unique ownership situation, reach out we’re happy to help you navigate it.

If you have solar without a battery, your system will shut off during a power outage for safety. To stay powered during outages, we recommend adding a battery or generator.

Yes — most customers see long-term savings, especially as utility rates keep rising. We provide a personalized energy report based on your actual usage and goals so you can see exactly how much you’ll save.

Batteries and Backup Power

Not necessarily, but it depends on your goals. Batteries provide backup power during outages and help you store excess solar for nighttime use. They’re especially useful in areas with time-of-use billing or frequent blackouts.

Yes! We design systems that can be expanded over time. We’ll help you decide if it makes more sense to install now or prepare for it later.

Batteries store solar energy and run silently; great for everyday use and smaller loads. Generators provide longer-duration backup power for homes that need full system coverage or have high energy demands.

Panels, Permits & Installations

If your current electrical panel isn’t large enough or code-compliant for solar, battery, or EV integration, we’ll recommend an upgrade. We install both standard panels and smart panel options like Span and Savant.

That’s totally fine. We’ll coordinate site access and keep you updated through your Customer Portal, so you’re always in the loop.

From signed agreement to Permission to Operate, most projects take 6 to 10 weeks with One Day Solar Installations. We’ll handle all permitting and inspections so you don’t have to.

Financing & Incentives

We work with several solar lenders to offer competitive loan options tailored to your goals; including financing, fixed monthly payments, and low-interest plans. We also accept cash payments or can coordinate with your credit union or preferred lender.

Yes, solar is still worth it without the tax credit. While incentives can improve upfront economics, they are not the foundation of a good system. The real value of solar comes from reducing reliance on utility companies, stabilizing long-term energy costs, and increasing the overall efficiency of your property.

In areas like Marin County and Sonoma County, where electricity rates continue to rise, solar paired with battery storage allows homeowners and businesses to offset usage during peak hours and maintain power during outages. Over time, that control becomes more valuable than any one-time incentive.

It depends on what you want your energy system to do for you.

Owning your system, whether through a loan or cash purchase, typically provides the most long term value. You build equity in your system, benefit from available incentives, and stay in full control of how your energy is produced and used. For homeowners and businesses planning to stay in their property, this is usually the strongest option.

A Power Purchase Agreement, or PPA, can be a good alternative if your priority is reducing your energy bill with little to no upfront cost. In many cases, a PPA can lower your monthly electricity expenses by up to 40 percent while keeping things simple.

We walk you through both options so you can choose what actually fits your goals, not just what looks best on paper.

Energy Monitoring & Smart Upgrades

Energy Intelligence is our approach to designing smarter systems combining solar, storage, smart panels, and live usage data so you can track and optimize your power.

Absolutely. We build every system with growth in mind whether that’s future-proofing for an EV, battery, generator, or smart home integration.

Yes! We offer monitoring through your inverter (like Enphase or PointGuard) and can install Sense Monitors or Span smart panels for deeper insights into your real-time energy usage.
